- Literate
Starlit Pawsteps, or 'SP' for short, is definitely a literate roleplay. We hate "*walks in2 camp n kills u no miss!!1*" more than anything. We do NOT allow what people seem to call 'wolfspeak'. Wolfspeak is the use of unnecessary or fake "fancy" words to describe basic body parts. Here are some examples of both wolfspeak and 'illiterate posts'..
"The alabaster felidae padded into the ShadowClan clearing, a yawn bubbling from her ebony rubbers. Suddenly, the fae rotated her audibles/auds and heard someone calling her name. The femora swiveled her cranial mass/cranium/crown around to find that it was the brujo/brute, Exampletail.'Hello.' she cooed in her melodic, harmonious voice. Her orbs/oculars/visionaries/luminaries/pools/irises scanned over the masculine brute, and she yawned once more, her white ivories glistening in the sunlight as she swished her banner from side to side, and her pillars and mandibles/digits still sore from yesterdays hunt."
This is too much. It is way too exaggerated, and some of these words don't even describe what they are trying to suggest and/or are fake. ("femora" is actually the plural for "femur" bone. So...yeah.)
"She walks into the camp and looks around and sighs as she pads to the frehs-kill pile and takes a rabbit, she eats it and sits down."
"*walks into camp*" and "She walks into the camp." Are too short.
We ask that you be descriptive when posting, but use actual words that accurately describe what you're trying to say. Even if your post is only three sentences, as long as it is in past-tense, third-person, with decent spelling and grammar, it's good to go!
On another note, please do not ramble on in your post about unrelated topics, or make your post too long! Other people want a chance to post as well. - Realistic
Great StarClan, where do I begin?
We absolutely do not allow unrealistic colors/features anywhere in this roleplay. Not even in StarClan!
Cats do not have purple or red or pink or white or black eyes.
Cats do not have blue pelts. They have blue-grey.
Cats are not black with white stripes.
Cats do not have perfect patterns, such as spirals, swirls, lightning marks, etc.
Cats cannot fly.
Cats do not have 3inch long claws.
Cats do NOT have powers, other than the few and rare spiritual abilities mentioned in the books.
Adult cats, both toms and she-cats, are NOT the size of kits or lions!
Cats DIE eventually.
Please make your character a realistic cat! When designing your cat, think, "Would Erin Hunter make a cat like that?" - Active & Friendly
SP aspires to be the most active of Warriors Roleplays on FeralHeart.
I often join Warriors Roleplays hoping that it will last, and then something happens, like drama, and the roleplay earns a bad reputation, and then everyone leaves.
We will not let that happen.
We're not giving up on this Roleplay.
We know that, eventually, drama will stir like it always does. In that case, our Staff will treat both arguing 'parties' as people instead of powerless members, and we will try to sort the issue out as fairly as possible, and use banning as a last resort. We will not bully anyone to the point of tears, no matter what happens. We are very welcoming, and forgiving. We don't bite. c:
We hope to be the roleplay that no one is afraid to join because they're "not good enough" or "my rival is in there, so I'm not going to join" or "I hate the staff!" Hopefully we can put our differences aside, and have fun roleplaying warrior cats. - Interactive Plot
Oh, this is a fun one!
As part of our plot, we include..
Random Events - When the staff sees a lot of people online and roleplaying, we'll secretly hop onto a fox/dog/badger avatar and spook some of the Clan cats, rogues/loners, or even kittypets! We'll likely announce in General something like "ANNOUNCEMENT - A chilling wind blows through ShadowClan territory, bringing with it the promise of rain." ; "ANNOUNCEMENT - There is now the fresh scent of badger/twoleg/dog/etc. on ThunderClan's border!" ; "ANNOUNCEMENT - A hawk circles over the WindClan camp!" ; "ANNOUNCEMENT - Suddenly, a faint splashing and yelping sound can be heard upstream--there are twoleg kits splashing about not far from RiverClan's camp!" out of the blue. Random events only occur when enough members are online for said event and roleplaying! Only Staff may decide these events and roleplay other creatures only as parts of events.
Varying Plot - The main storyline does not center around staff. There is no "chosen one", and only that cat/the staff gets the spotlight. That will never happen in SP. In SP, everyone is on the spotlight! If you want to run off and join another Clan, go for it! If you want to assassinate your leader, go ahead and try (you might be successful with enough planning!). But be wary--your actions do come with consequences, so do not take this rule lightly. If you are a kit, for example, and you leave camp one day--there is a good chance some other creature will find you before your Clan does. - Traditional
We basically go by the books. We allow the majority of prefixes used in the books, however we have a list that includes realistic ones not used in the book, we feature the original four Clans in the forest territory, and we go by the warrior code/principles in the book.
I've seen a pawful of warriors roleplays declare that they are, and I quote, "more traditional than the books", while they do not allow prefixes used in the books (like "Tangle", "Breeze", "Holly", "Petal"). Their logic was "well how does a cat look like breeze?".
Cats are not always named based off of appearance.
Cats may be named..
-in honor of another cat (Book: Crookedstar's Promise; Crookedjaw names Willowkit after her mother; Book: Firestar's Quest ; Leafkit after Leafstar)
-in honor of an object/animal (Book: Crookedstar's Promise; Oakkit is named after the oak they took shelter in during the storm.)
-in honor of an event (Book: Crookedstar's Promise; Stormkit(later Crookedkit) is named after the storm they were born in.)
-in honor of their appearance, be it color, fur, design, or trait (Trait- Book: Yellowfang's Secret; Brokenkit after his misshapen tail. Color- Book: Bluestar's Prophecy; Bluekit and Snowkit after their fur. Design-Book: Bluestar's Prophecy; Spottedkit(leaf) after her spotted/tortoiseshell fur. Fur- Book: Yellowfang's Secret; Tanglekit(burr) after her long, splotched fur.)
-in honor of an action (Book: The Sight; Pouncepaw, for unknown reasons.) - Sited
Well, you're on the site... - Mapped
Our map is a new location for the original four Clans. It is designed to be as realistic as possible, with as much undergrowth and plantlife we can fit without too much lag! It will be updated with each season, and will include portals to the following..
Mooncliff
StarClan
Place of No Stars
Well, that just about wraps up our Roleplay. If you have any questions, please leave them below, and I'll answer 'em ASAP, and put them as following.
